Frequently Asked Questions
Psychodynamic therapy is not a quick fix approach. Meaningful, sustained change can take time.
What is the first step?
Please get in touch via phone or email. I offer a free 15 minute phone for us to understand what you are looking for from therapy. If you wish to proceed, we will book a consultation session; this is a chance for you to ask any questions you may have and for us both to get a sense of whether this is the right therapy and fit for you.
How many sessions will I need?
I work on an open-ended, long-term basis, with sessions once weekly. People tend to come for months, rather than weeks.
If you would prefer a shorter timeframe (for example 6 or 12 weeks), we can discuss this before we begin and focus on a specific issue together. All sessions are 50 minutes long.
Do I have to prepare for sessions?
I encourage you to bring whatever is on your mind – it is a free-associative space to speak freely, without judgement, however discomforting the thought or feeling. We can then think together, and try to understand your experience.
Do you work online?
Yes, I offer online therapy sessions to clients in France and internationally. I will send you a private link before your session. I encourage you to ensure you have a private, quiet space where you can talk without interruptions.
How much do you charge?
My fees range between €70/80 per session, with invoices sent at the end of each month. I also have a limited number of low-cost slots available.
For adolescents 16+ my fee is €60.
What if I miss a session?
If we agree to work together, we will arrange a set time and day every week. These sessions are a space and time exclusively for you.
If you cannot attend at the scheduled time, I will do my best to reschedule (possibly an online session), although this cannot be guaranteed.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I kindly ask for at least four weeks' notice.
Cancellations made with less than four weeks' notice will be charged the full session fee.
